Nera Shorts are the wearable version of our Nera belt. EMS contact pads are built into the fabric across the seat and upper thigh, positioned so they sit over the muscle rather than needing to be placed by hand. Low level electrical pulses make the muscle underneath contract on its own, which is the same principle physiotherapists have used for decades and the same one in our belt.

The control unit detaches. That matters more than it sounds: it means the shorts themselves can be washed, and it means you are not replacing electronics because a garment wore out. It clips on at the waistband, charges over USB, and holds enough for several sessions. Intensity steps through a range of levels with preset programmes that vary the pulse rhythm.

Fit is what makes or breaks an EMS garment. The pads only work where the fabric is holding them flat against skin, so the shorts need to be snug. Loose fabric means patchy or absent sensation, and the usual reason someone feels nothing on one side is a pad that has lifted away. Start at the lowest intensity, since EMS is a strange sensation the first few times and there is nothing to gain from a setting you dislike.
