Intelligent temperature control sits on top of that. A sensor reads the air temperature many times per second and adjusts the element continuously, so the airflow holds a steady heat instead of spiking and dipping the way a fixed element does. That consistency is what prevents the sudden hot bursts that scorch a section, and it is the reason the dryer can run at a lower setting and still finish quickly.

The brushless motor also runs noticeably quieter, since the noise from a conventional dryer comes largely from brush friction and a slower, louder airflow path.
